According to U.S. government statistics, health care is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the United States.

Employment in allied health careers is expected to increase by almost 30% over the next few years to over 13.8 million workers by the year 2005.


WHO WE ARE

PCI Health Training Center in Dallas, is a fully accredited private school prepared to meet the challenge of providing graduates who are qualified and ready for employment in this growth industry. Long ago, PCI made the commitment to provide training only for medical careers, and we continue to concentrate our efforts in this area exclusively. Through specialized, short-term training, PCI can prepare an individual with the necessary skills and knowledge to begin functioning immediately as a professional in the allied health services industry. PCI currently offers three comprehensive academic programs - Medical Assistant, Psychiatric Assistant and Medical Office Assistant. However, within these three broad areas, a number of specialty fields exist, offering a multitude of specialized career choices to each PCI graduate.

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

PCI is a fully accredited institution approved by the U.S. Department of Education as a Proprietary Institution of Higher Education and participates in the federal student assistance programs. The federal programs available include non-repayable Pell Grants and federal Stafford Student Loans. The Veterans Administration has also approved the Medical Assistant and Psychiatric Assistant programs for Veterans Training. In addition to federal financial assistance programs, PCI has a number of interest-free and low-interest institutional financing plans available. Students may apply for one or more of these programs to help pay their tuition and educational expenses. MORE

THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

The school originated in Dallas, Texas in 1978 when Dr. Roy Rose recognized the tremendous need for skilled professionals in the health care industry, and founded the Academy for Medical and Dental Assistants. In 1983, the school was purchased by Texas Education Corporation and it became an integral part of a large chain of private career schools. In May of 1990, Prince Careers Incorporated purchased the school to continue its tradition of providing skilled workers to the growing allied health industry under the name PCI Health Training Center. For nearly twenty years, we have been preparing highly trained individuals for careers in allied health care.

  • Short-Term Training
    Our training programs can be completed in approximately 9 months. This puts the student less than a year away from being "job-ready" for their new career. We are dedicated to providing intensive short-term training that prepare students with the necessary skills to begin a career immediately upon completion of their program of study.
  • Hands-On Lab Training
    Students receive laboratory training beginning with the very first week of classes. The graduate that is confident with their skills is the graduate that will get the job!
  • Training From Experienced Health Care Professionals
    PCI faculty members have a number of years of practical experience in allied health care. PCI employs a faculty of experienced health professionals including doctors, nurses, and medical professionals with experience levels from five to twenty years in the health care industry, each committed to assisting our students realize their goals of becoming contributing members of the health care industry.
  • Small Classes & Personalized Attention
    Small classes make our training programs more personalized. Students are afforded as much one-on-one time as necessary with their instructors to insure that each necessary skill is achieved by each student. We strive to treat each student as an aspiring professional and all staff members share in the responsibility of assisting each student reach his or her career goals. Our school's administrative offices maintain an open-door policy for any student with a question or concern.
  • Flexible Class Schedules
    Students may choose from a variety of class schedules that will accommodate their personal life or work schedule. Many PCI students are working adults seeking to upgrade their skills or start a new career. With day and evening classes available, we have a schedule that can fit our students' needs.
  • Job Placement Assistance
    Students receive guidance in resume development, job search skills, and mock interviews during their training, and the school placement office will assist students with job placement upon graduation. PCI also offers Lifetime Placement Assistance for graduates in good standing. The school provides information to in-school students on local companies offering temporary or short-term employment to help students with their tuition and living expenses.
  • Affordable Tuition Financing
    Financial assistance is available to all students. As an accredited institution, PCI has federal financial assistance available for those who qualify. The school also offers a number of loans, grants, and institutional programs making the cost of education affordable for practically anyone.
